If your dream dessert is a layer cake without the hassle, a magic cake may fit your baking bill perfectly. These cakes call for a loose batter that magically transform into multiple layers of a custardy, fudgy, sponge cake, which looks like it took hours to put together. Magic cakes can be chocolate or plain vanilla, a tiramisu cake reimagined, or an unconventional cardamom-scented sweet potato cake. This book will walk the reader through layer after layer of goodness, with 41 recipes for cakes and toppings that are fun to read, easy to make, and delicious to eat. Each will be fashioned with a single batter and topped with a frosting or a simple dusting of powdered sugar-and a little magic.
