Paperback. It was clear to me that my witness had played a role in saving my mother's life and I became compelled to watch my parents whenever possible. While pretending to do homework or chores I studied them until I got a feel for what their plans might be. I grew to sense when a fight was brewing, could predict when Daddy was going to come home drunk and developed a feel for when werewolves were heading through the park, toting trouble up to our door, which happened more often than I cared for. I began to see how Mom was clocking up every slap and kick and insult like it was kindling, and that she had a great big fire in mind.In an alternative Trenton of the 1980s, radioactive cats, congenital tattoos, biker angels, cocky fairy godmothers and the determination to survive are all that stand between Hope and the creeping chemical forces of LoboChem. Dust off your Wigwams and your high-tops, your banana clips and Aquanet, for a trip through the streets and skies of a Garden State where love triumphs over fear, faith is what you die with and family is who you ride with."Oh, I loved this book! Cyndi Lauper meets Gabriel Garcia Marquez in a fluoro 80s mash-up somewhere in New Jersey. Unmissable." Anna Hope, author of Wake, The Ballroom and Expectation This item is printed on demand.
