- Book 1 of 1: Made Simple
Artificial intelligence is everywhere. Understanding it shouldn't require a computer-science degree.
AI Made Simple is a practical, plain-English guide for anyone who wants to understand artificial intelligence without becoming a programmer, data scientist, or AI engineer.
John Binks takes the terminology that makes AI sound complicated and explains it in clear, approachable language. You'll learn how artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks, deep learning, generative AI, large language models, AI assistants, and AI agents fit together, and why those differences matter.
Whether you use ChatGPT at work, hear AI discussed in meetings, manage people who are adopting AI, or want to understand where technology is headed, this book gives you the foundation to participate confidently in the conversation.
Inside, you'll learn:
-
What artificial intelligence actually means
-
How AI differs from traditional software and automation
-
How machine learning, neural networks, and deep learning work
-
What makes generative AI different from traditional predictive AI
-
What large language models actually do
-
What tokens, parameters, prompts, and context mean
-
Why an LLM is not the same thing as ChatGPT
-
What happens after you press Enter in an AI assistant
-
How AI assistants use search, files, memory, retrieval, and other tools
-
The difference between an AI model, assistant, and agent
-
Why AI sometimes produces confident but incorrect answers
-
How to think about hallucinations, bias, verification, and missing context
-
What AI means for privacy, security, copyright, and sensitive information
-
How AI is changing tasks, jobs, management, and organizations
-
Why human judgment becomes more important as AI systems become more capable
-
What multimodal AI, local AI, robotics, and agentic systems may mean for the future
AI Made Simple doesn't tell you that AI will solve everything, and it doesn't bury you in technical jargon. Instead, it gives you the knowledge to ask better questions, evaluate AI claims, recognize limitations, protect important information, and decide when AI should assist people rather than replace their judgment.
No programming. No equations. No computer-science degree required.
You don't need to become an AI expert.
You need to become AI literate.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
