Paperback. Macqueen's Legacy. The story of the Royal Mail Line spans the golden age of ocean travel. Although the company's vessels never broke records for tonnage of glitz, as the world's one-time largest shipping concern they were a familiar sight in ports around the world. Andes, Amazon, Tagus and Highland Monarch, to name a few, were often seen in countries as diverse as Brazil, bermuda, Colombia, Canada, Grenada and the US, as well as their home ports of London, Southampton and Liverpool. From the very earliest teansatlantic crossings of steam-ships to they heyday of the holiday cruise, in wartime and in peace, the ships of RMSP and Royal Mail Lines were at home in almost every corner of the globe. In this highly illustrated volume, Stuart Nicol follows his own adage that '.there's more to ships than statistics' and captures the spirit of the ships of the Royal Mail Line from the dawn of steam to the company's demise. Illustrated. 256 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.).…
