nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Imagine your mind is a high-tech factory from the 1920s, filled with spinning belts, hissing steam, and a basement where you've accidentally locked all your most embarrassing secrets. It sounds like a lot to handle, right But don't worry! Violet M. Firth is here to give you the ultimate owner's manual. She breaks down massive concepts like the 'subconscious' and 'repressed memories' into simple ideas you'll actually enjoy learning about. Since she was a practitioner who worked with real people, she knows exactly how to explain the 'machinery' without all the dry academic fluff. You'll discover how 'complexes' are basically just jams in your mental gears and why your dreams might be trying to send you a telegram from your basement. Firth shows you how your instincts and emotions work together-or sometimes against each other-to shape your daily life. On the other hand, she doesn't just point out the problems; she gives you the tools to oil those gears and get your mental factory running smoothly again. In addition, she includes a foreword by A. G. Tansley, a absolute legend in early psychology, who confirms that her methods are the real deal. The beauty of this book is how it turns self-reflection into a fascinating adventure. You'll find yourself nodding along as she describes those 'lightbulb moments' when you finally realize why you've been stuck on a certain thought or habit. It's a masterclass in human nature that feels surprisingly modern, even a century later. Firth reminds us that we aren't just victims of our thoughts; we're the engineers who can learn to master the machine. There aren't any miracle cures or 'magic' shortcuts here. It's just you and Firth looking under the hood of the human experience with a healthy dose of logic and common sense. If you want to understand the hidden forces that drive your personality and find a little more peace in your own head, The Machinery of the Mind is a total must-read. Get ready to grab your toolkit, because you're about to become the master of your own mental machinery.…
