Machahou, il était une fois en berbère, pour relater cette histoire algérienne. À travers le destin de plusieurs familles dont les existences s'enchevêtrent au fil des événements, cette trilogie traverse la période coloniale puis les années de l'après-indépendance, mêlant mémoire, histoire, trajectoires humaines et fiction. Ces parcours individuels deviennent par la force des choses le miroir d'une identité commune et d'une quête constante de cohésion au sein d'un pays marqué par l'histoire. Le premier tome, La Toile d'Araignée, nous transporte dans l'Algérie en guerre pour son indépendance. Au centre du récit, il y a la famille Irathen. À travers ses luttes, ses sacrifices et ses espoirs, c'est tout un peuple qui se meut dans son destin, marqué par les blessures du temps, mais irréductible dans sa quête de liberté, de dignité et de justice. Cela avait commencé en 1871 quand Ali dut quitter son village pour se réfugier à la Casbah. Puis, il y eut Salem qui alla jusqu'en Amérique gagner de quoi racheter les terres de son grand-père qui avaient été saisies par le pouvoir colonial. Et voilà Arezki qui, frustré de n'avoir pu finir ses études, entreprit de devenir postier tout en s'activant au sein des réseaux clandestins du FLN à Alger.
Il y a aussi l'histoire des Morin installés là depuis des générations. Ils ne se posaient guère de questions : ils étaient venus ici travailler et prospérer. Ils savaient pourtant que leur réussite tenait en partie au système en place. Mais ils ne s'en émouvaient pas jusqu'au jour où leur fille Hélène vint leur ouvrir les yeux et les amener à prendre fait et cause pour ce peuple qu'ils avaient si longtemps ignoré, et à s'ouvrir à son histoire et à sa culture.
Quant à la famille Chorfi, modeste, mais digne, elle avait tout misé sur l'avenir de leur fille unique. Ils voyaient en elle la promesse d'une vie meilleure qu'ils n'avaient jamais pu atteindre. Nérimène travaillait avec acharnement, consciente du poids des espoirs qu'elle portait. Mais un jour, tout bascula. Animée par un profond sentiment d'injustice et une soif de liberté, elle décida de rejoindre la Résistance. Ses parents finirent par comprendre qu'en suivant sa propre voie, leur fille honorait aussi les sacrifices qu'ils avaient consentis pour elle.
Elias Tabet, avocat, était, lui, revenu de France avec sa famille pour renouer avec la terre qu'il avait quittée, enfant. Très vite, sa robe d'avocat se transforma en drapeau, défenseur des sans droits et dénonciateur d'un système dévoyé et corrompu. Son fils, venu enseigner la philosophie, se heurta lui aussi à la dure réalité du pays et les idéaux qu'il transmettait en classe prirent soudain chair dans la lutte quotidienne.
Et puis il y a JePo et son histoire singulière. Enfant de Bab el Oued, issu d'une famille juive dont les racines algériennes plongeaient à plus de deux millénaires, il avait su transformer son salon de coiffure en un des point d'attache du FLN. Rusé et maître dans l'art de la dissimulation, il s'était joué plus d'une fois des parachutistes. Personnage insaisissable, il était un comédien de génie dont personne ne savait vraiment où s'arrêtait l'acteur et où commençait l'homme.
La Toile d'Araignée, c'est aussi l'histoire de Rougi et de son fils Miro, de H'Mida, Loinduciel, Touvabien et toute cette toile de milliers de résistants qui avaient pris les armes contre l'armée coloniale. Chaque lien et chaque nœud ajouté à la toile renforçait l'édifice de leur cause et réconfortait cette Algérie combattante, désormais entre ces bonnes petites mains qui la menèrent jusqu'à l'indépendance. Mais dès le 3 juillet 1962, des fissures apparurent... qui n'auguraient rien de bon...

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to AHA-BUCH GmbH, Einbeck, Germany, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
