Add to basketEdward Elgar’s The Music Makers, Opus 69 is a major British choral work for contralto solo, SATB choir and orchestra, presented here in a vocal score edition with piano reduction for rehearsal, study and performance preparation. Set to the celebrated poetry of Arthur O'Shaughnessy, this edition allows singers, accompanists, conductors and choral societies to explore Elgar’s expressive late-Romantic writing in a practical format suitable for concert preparation and advanced musical study.
The score includes the complete contralto solo and SATB choral parts with a piano reduction of the orchestral accompaniment, making it well suited to choir rehearsals, conservatoire study, vocal coaching and performance reference. Clear notation and practical layout support ensemble work, interpretation and detailed preparation without the need for full orchestral forces.
Ideal for experienced singers, mixed choirs, music students and conductors exploring twentieth-century British choral repertoire, this edition highlights Elgar’s rich harmonic language, expansive vocal textures and reflective musical character. The piano reduction supports efficient rehearsal work while helping performers engage more deeply with phrasing, balance and interpretation. Whether used for formal performance preparation or personal musical study, the score encourages a stronger connection with one of Elgar’s most emotionally resonant choral compositions.
This edition is well suited for choir libraries, university music departments and classical vocal enthusiasts seeking a reliable rehearsal and study resource. Its combination of literary depth, expressive choral writing and practical piano accompaniment makes it a meaningful choice for performance preparation, continued musical development or gifting to dedicated classical musicians and choral performers.
