293p. A hardcover book bound in teal cloth with silver-toned decorations. Good condition overall. Edges are worn. Hinges have been repaired with archival tape, so the binding is tight. Owners' tiny signature on front endpaper. The title page is lightly soiled. Occasional age-related blemishes, but otherwise clean. Stories of Christian conversion and devotion among children and youth, as told by the famous preacher Dwight L. Moody. Illustrated with pictures by Gustave Dore and vignettes by J. Stuart Littlejohn. Included at the end is an essay on the education of the deaf by Richard S. Rhodes, inventor of the Rhodes Audiphone, a fan-like device that conducts sound waves through the user's teeth.
