Volume two only. Title page calls for 48 plates, 45 present. Volume two was issued in twelve semi-monthly parts. Each plate is accompanied by a descriptive essay. Charles A. Dana (1819 - 1897) was a journalist and editor, a supporter of the anti-slavery movement, and Assistant Secretary of War during the Civil War. Seller Inventory # 67615
