Manufacturing quality depends on the ability to measure processes, detect variation, prevent defects, and maintain consistent production results. Quality engineering provides a systematic approach to understanding process behavior and using data, inspection, and improvement methods to strengthen manufacturing performance.
MANUFACTURING QUALITY ENGINEERING explores the engineering principles behind quality control, statistical methods, process capability, defect prevention, inspection systems, and continuous improvement.
The book examines how quality can be incorporated into manufacturing processes through measurement, statistical analysis, process monitoring, inspection, and structured improvement activities.
Key topics include:
• Fundamentals of manufacturing quality engineering
• Quality control principles and methods
• Statistical methods for manufacturing processes
• Statistical process control and process monitoring
• Process capability and variation analysis
• Defect identification and prevention
• Inspection and measurement systems
• Sampling and quality evaluation
• Root cause analysis and corrective action
• Manufacturing process performance
• Quality data and performance measurement
• Continuous improvement methods
• Quality assurance within production systems
• Integration of quality engineering with manufacturing operations
The book approaches quality as an integral part of manufacturing engineering rather than as an activity performed only after production. Readers will explore how process information and measurement data can be used to understand variation, identify potential problems, and support informed improvement decisions.
Process capability and statistical methods are examined as tools for evaluating process behavior and determining whether production processes can consistently meet defined requirements. Inspection systems are also considered in relation to measurement accuracy, defect detection, process monitoring, and quality assurance.
For quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, production professionals, engineering students, inspectors, technicians, and readers interested in manufacturing quality systems, MANUFACTURING QUALITY ENGINEERING provides a structured foundation for understanding how quality can be measured, controlled, analyzed, and continuously improved across industrial production environments.
