Fading and shelfwear. Not only does this catalogue illustrate the many precision instruments manufactured by this company, but also include chapters on contemporary uses of compasses (solar, miners' rail road, etc.); transits; needle instruments; leveling instruments, drawing instruments, etc. Lovely full-page engravings of both Engineering and a Surveyor's Transit, at beginning of book. Table of contents at rear, followed by Price List, and advertising section. Numerous diagrams. This Fourth Edition includes Supplement to Manual with numerous examples of German Swiss Silver Instruments, Tape Measures, Bow Pens, Papers, Pencils, Colors, Tripods, etc. 119 pp.
