This book offers a compelling look at the latest work of one of Europe's finest up-and-coming artistic talents. Italian artist Luisa Rabbia has garnered international acclaim for her video work, drawings, sculptures, and installations. This beautifully produced volume is a result of an artist-in-residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, between 2007 and 2008. "Travels With Isabella" is a stunning visual documentation of Rabbia's digital installation - inspired by archival photographs purchased by Isabella Stewart Gardner (an esteemed patron of the arts in the late 1800s and early 1900s) while travelling to China in 1883 - in which the artist connects Gardner's memories with her own personal geography. Featuring 88 full-colour digital stills taken from the work, plus an insightful essay, this volume offers a unique look at the newest work of one of Europe's finest up-and-coming artists.
