Ottimo esemplare, su forte carta vergellata, di una delle pochissime - e soprattutto delle prime - monografie sull'artista romagnolo, con un taglio più memorialistico. Luigi VAROLI nacque a Cotignola il 23 settembre 1889 e morì il 25 settembre 1958; fu pittore, scultore e musicista. Dopo aver appreso a Lugo i primi elementi del disegno dal Visani, si iscrisse nel 1914 all Accademia di Ravenna, dove continuò gli studi sotto la guida di Vittorio Guaccimanni. Conseguì il diploma all Accademia di Bologna nel 1920 e, due anni più tardi, ottenne la licenza dei corsi superiori di pittura a Roma. Nel 1931, a dimostrazione dell ecletticità dei suoi interessi in campo artistico, si diplomò contrabbassista presso la Regia Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna. Nel corso della sua vita, espose in varie mostre nazionali e a Parigi al Salone degli Indipendenti, ottenendo vari e importanti riconoscimenti. Avviò laboratori di ceramica in molte città romagnole, diresse la scuola di disegno di Cotignola e insegnò al Liceo Artistico di Ravenna. Diresse la rivista E val e fece parte di giurie in concorsi regionali e nazionali. A lui sono intitolati il Museo civico e la Scuola di musica comunale. Ad uno dei suoi maggiori estimatori, Raffaele De Grada, si deve un ritratto molto efficace dell artista. "La qualità essenziale del Varoli, ciò per cui egli si è elevato come aquila sopra il pollaio della pittura di provincia", ha scritto De Grada "è la sua capacità di trarre sempre l immagine tipica ed eccezionale, quella che la prima volta si scopre solo all artista e che noi chiamiamo invenzione . Per essa e con essa il mondo si accresce di un fatto nuovo, che prima non esisteva. Esisteva sì la Romagna, Cotignola, la sua gente, la memoria robusta degli Sforza e la presenza di una civiltà contadina, aggregata nel lavoro e dispersa nella bizzarria dei suoi cantastorie, narratori d organetto, bevitori, sciancati e passatempi d osterie. Ma dopo Varoli questa realtà la vediamo in modo diverso, essa ci giunge con l annobilimento della pittura più piena e con l estro delle sue "maschere" in una scultura che riprende tutte le fantasie delle correnti antiche dell espressionismo realista a incominciare da quelle che vengono dal barocco". L opera di Luigi Varoli è stata oggetto della mostra antologica Luigi Varoli. Un maestro nel Novecento (1889 1958), curata da Orlando Piraccini a Cotignola, dove ha recentemente riaperto, dopo quattro anni di chiusura, la Casa Varoli, abitazione e studio di uno degli artisti romagnoli più versatili del primo Novecento.

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to DARIS SAS, Lucca, Italy, +39 0583 440563, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
