Dr. Néstor Carbonell Cortina is a lawyer, essayist, orator, history scholar, senior business executive and militant in the struggle for the freedom of his homeland. He was born in Havana, Cuba; He received a law degree from Villanueva University and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Harvard University. His books and publications include: El Espíritu de la Constitución Cubana de 1940; And the Russians Stayed; Por la libertad de Cuba, una historia inconclusa; Grandes debates de la Constituyente Cubana de 1940 y La Cuba Eterna, Ayer Hoy y Mañana.
This book is a compendium of the most brilliant and important essays on the eventful process of Cuba, with its lights and shadows, from the advent of the Republic to these fateful days. He provides unknown data on the struggle against the communist regime on the war, political and diplomatic fronts, being a witness in many of them. It suggests the most effective measures to combat the lies and fear that grip Cuba, and lays the groundwork to democratize the nation under the rule of law.
The illustrious prologue writer of this book, Dr. Elio Alba Buffil, considers the work to be anthological because of the valuable essays it contains, the expressive beauty, the luminosity of the analysis it carries out and the veracity of the facts it highlights. A book that shows the mistakes and successes in the history of Cuba and the ways to achieve a happy, free, just, supportive nation, with everyone and for the good of all.
