"Low and I: A Cooked Tour in London" is a witty and engaging exploration of 1920s London, blending the keen observational skills of journalist F.W. Thomas with the satirical spirit of the era. The work takes readers on a whimsical journey through the streets, landmarks, and social atmosphere of the British capital, offering a unique "cooked tour" that captures the essence of post-war metropolitan life. Written with a lighthearted touch, the book serves as both a humorous travelogue and a vibrant historical snapshot of the city during a period of significant social change.

Throughout the narrative, the author navigates the quirks and eccentricities of London society, providing insightful and often biting commentary on the city's landscape and its inhabitants. The title reflects the collaborative spirit with the renowned cartoonist David Low, whose presence and influence inform the sharp, observational tone of the work. This book is a delightful read for those interested in British humor, the history of London, and the evolution of urban journalism. It remains a charming testament to a bygone era of city exploration, filled with clever anecdotes and a sharp, enduring sense of place.
