The publisher donates 100% of the proceeds to Democracy Docket, an organization that is successfully fighting against voter suppression in the United States.

Authors from the US, India, Germany, and the UK have crafted visions of the past, present, and future of democracy with tales that range from comic to tragic and from cozy to noir. You'll also find a few stories blended with science fiction, horror, and fantasy.

Each author shares their take on the theme: the color of my vote. We know it shouldn't matter, but somehow it still does.

About the Author: Mysti works in San Francisco and lives in a forgotten corner of The City with her husband, graphic novelist Dale Berry and a small black rescue cat. An active member of MWA, Sisters in Crime, and ITW, Mysti serves on the board of her local Sisters in Crime chapter (NorCal!) and has previously served on the board of the PSWA and Desert Sleuths chapter of SinC. Mysti is the editor and publisher of Low Down Dirty Vote, two volumes of short stories (with the third launching in May 2022) created to raise money for voting rights work. All three volumes contain stories by award-winning writers. We're especially proud of Faye Snowden for her story "One Bullet. One Vote." that has been accepted into Best American Mystery and Suspense 2021. Mysti's short stories have been published in EQMM, AHMM, and several crime-fiction anthologies.
