Loving Someone with Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder
A Practical Step-by-Step Guide to Understanding, Communicating, and Thriving in Love Beyond OCPD
Are you struggling to maintain love and connection in a relationship affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder. Do you feel misunderstood, emotionally distant, or constantly walking on eggshells around your partner?
You are not alone, and this book is here to help.
Loving Someone with OCPD is a compassionate, practical guide for anyone navigating the complexities of loving a partner with OCPD. It provides tools, strategies, and insights to help couples bridge emotional distance, communicate effectively, and build lasting love, even when rigid routines, perfectionism, and control create tension.
Inside this book, you will discover:
- How OCPD affects relationships and what it really means to love someone with these traits
- The inner world of a partner with OCPD: fears, desires, and emotional needs that drive behavior
- Proven strategies for communication that reduce defensiveness, resolve conflict, and rebuild trust
- Techniques to balance responsibility, set healthy boundaries, and prevent burnout
- Ways to create emotional intimacy, warmth, and playfulness without compromising your own identity
- Practical, step-by-step guidance for both partners to understand, support, and thrive together
This book is not about blaming or “fixing” one person. Instead, it helps couples:
- Understand the patterns that create tension
- Translate the emotional language of OCPD into connection
- Navigate perfectionism, control, and rigidity with patience and empathy
- Build a relationship where love and structure coexist
Whether you are:
- A partner who loves someone with OCPD

- A therapist, counselor, or coach supporting couples in these dynamics
…this book is your guide to creating lasting connection, mutual respect, and emotional safety.
