This novel is an eye-opener... a sensational read. Five stars. NetGalley review.
When Bobbie Sinclair's boyfriend commits suicide and blames her, she vows never to love again. Instead she chooses to lead a double existence, kind-hearted by day and promiscuous by night. She struggles to maintain the balance between light and dark and is sucked into the world of a controlling and ruthless Glasgow crime lord.
Set against a vibrant 1970s urban backdrop, this Scottish noir plots Bobbie's desperate plight. Constantly afraid of her past catching up with her, she battles danger, adversity and drug addiction on a long and perilous road back to love.
Love's Long Road is a dark, racy thriller about guilt and the fear of retribution. It captures to perfection what it was like to be young, female and single in the 1970s.

About the Author
I went to Glasgow University in 1975 and lived in the city's West End, the time and place for the setting of the majority of 'Love's Long Road'.
Glasgow was a very different city back then and it was not until the 1980s that the city's cultural renaissance started to happen. I've kept the Student Handbooks for each year I was at university from 1975 to 1978, which outlined to new students the social and cultural opportunities in Glasgow as well as providing a snapshot of the values and issues of the time. They provided invaluable source material for the setting of my novel and it is fascinating to compare the world described in these handbooks with the vibrant, cosmopolitan and sophisticated Glasgow of today.
After I graduated from University I got a sales job with a toiletries company working in South Glasgow and the surrounding areas. I'd occasionally travel down to London and that's when I discovered Camden Town and Soho, the other main setting in the book.
