About the Author: Molly Haskell is a leading American film critic, lecturer, and freelance writer. She is the author of FROM REVERENCE TO RAPE: THE TREATMENT OF WOMEN IN THE MOVIES, and HOLDING MY OWN IN NO MAN'S LAND: WOMEN AND MEN AND FILM AND FEMINISTS. An essay of hers appeared in a book being published this year by Johns Hopkins University Press called AMERICAN MOVIE THEATERS. She has been a staff critic for The Village Voice, New York Magazine, and Vogue.
