Golden Press issued this 1980 set of twelve tiny books, first published as Tiny Nonsense Stories in 1949, in a bookcase box built as a city apartment building, its windows, balconies and fire escape crowded w/ animal neighbors. A sign on the front reads Find the Secret Drawer, and the drawer still pulls out for tiny treasures, just as the side panel promises. Volumes 1 to 7 and 9 to 11 are here: Poor Frightened Mr. Pig, The Easter Bunny, The Naughty Little Guest, Happy Valentine, Roger Mouse's Wish, Uncle Quack, The Wonderful Silly Picnic, The Cowboy Kitten, Little Squirrel's Santa Claus and The Two Snowbulls. Mrs. Sheep's Little Lamb and April Fool! are lacking. Each little book, about 2 by 3 inches, carries its own number on the front board, its own ISBN on the rear board, and a pair of dressed-up animals strolling past a painted fence or brick wall. Garth Williams's color pictures fill every page, w/ the same soft, detailed animals that made his name, set to Kunhardt's short, playful stories for the very young. Collectors of Garth Williams, Golden Books and miniature books seek these sets in their original box, which often did not survive. Condition varies volume to volume; please inspect photos carefully. …

Shipping terms
DOMESTIC SHIPPING:
We offer a choice of media mail (when applicable), first class, priority and/or expedited whenever possible. Choices for shipping methods vary and will appear at checkout (as well as additional opportunities to purchase insurance, extra insurance, etc.). All domestic orders include tracking.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
International shipping has become increasingly complex, but we do our best to keep up. If you have any questions regarding shipping to your country, feel free to reach out before you order. We will do our best to give you an exact quote.
All international orders include tracking and insurance. Expedited orders generally ship via USPS, DHL or Priority Mail International depending on the destination. Consolidated shipping is usually via Asendia or a similar, reliable carrier.
**VAT, Fees & Taxes: **
Where your country requires, and when under the value threshold set by your country, VAT is collected at checkout and remitted by the marketplace you ordered through. Any additional fees, duties, or taxes your country or carrier charges upon arrival are the buyer's responsibility (collected by your postal service or carrier when the package is delivered). The one exception is the European Union (see below).
The European Union:
As of 2026, the EU has added a new customs duty on every parcel entering the Union. Because of this, we are now required to prepay all duty and customs (DDP) before shipping, which is why you may notice that our EU rates run significantly higher than other countries. Additionally, on orders over 150 Euros, the full VAT tax due, over and above €150, is most often not collected by marketplaces at checkout. We may contact you through the marketplace you ordered to collect these additional VAT fees before shipping.
Typical speeds:
Although customs and overseas carrier delays sometimes happen and are outside of our control, the following should be a good guide (Business days only). If you need it faster, feel free to reach out. Sometimes we can achieve the “almost” impossible :)
