Item description from seller

Octavo. 95 pp. First published in 1940. The present copy is illustrated by Joseph Low and is inscribed by Countee Cull's wife and with a gift inscription from previous owner dated 1969. Readrs young and old will be caught up in the suspense and drama, humor and pathos as each tale is unfold. Cull's faith in the appeal of The Lost Zoo is well born out by the many worn copies still in used i homes and libraries. Jospeh Low's inaginative and delightful drawings are true to the text, yet enhance it. If poet and cat wre here to see this lovely new edition, they would quickly become a trio. A handsome copy bound in pink cloth, stamped in light green depicting a cat, spine lettering a light green, one very tiny, bumped corner, in a clipped pictorial dust jacket.
