Twenty years ago, Jack Rome was a young American soldier who risked everything to rescue a girl named Tessla from the brutal camel races of Oman. He barely survived the attempt—and spent the next two decades trying to forget.
Now Jack’s an aging diplomat in Tehran, limping on a bad leg, haunted by tragedy, and long retired from heroics. Until Tessla walks back into his life with a desperate plea: help her rescue her kidnapped son from a ruthless Russian billionaire.
But this isn’t just a simple abduction. The boy has been taken into Iran’s remote volcanic mountains, where the billionaire believes the true Garden of Eden lies hidden—a place of ancient secrets and the mythical Tree of Life said to cure all disease.
Dragged unwillingly into a deadly quest, Jack must face slavers, mercenaries, and the brutal desert itself. Alongside Tessla, he’ll uncover lost scrolls, decipher ancient clues, and battle men willing to kill for immortality. Because finding the Garden of Eden might be humanity’s last hope... or unleash unimaginable evil.
Lost Eden is a pulse-pounding archaeological thriller packed with danger, romance, and the eternal clash of good versus greed. Perfect for fans of Clive Cussler, James Rollins, and Indiana Jones–style adventures where legend comes to life.

“J.R. Rain is one of my all-time favorite authors and I have read several of his books. His books are so entertaining, funny, well-written, and the stories and their characters are great. Lost Eden is an action-packed, fast-paced adventure that will keep you reading until you’ve reached the end." —Amazon review

“Once again—kudos for J.R. Rain! Here again, J.R. Rain takes a piece of Christian history and once again turns it into an amazing worthwhile read! Spies, hunters, and a greedy and ruthless Russian mixed in with the Garden of Eden and the Tree of Life to create one great read! There was nothing slow about this story, non-stop excitement and action from beginning to end! You will thoroughly enjoy the ride! I loved it!” —Amazon review
“I discovered J.R. Rain a short while ago after a friend recommended one of his books. Just a few months later and I can tell you honestly that I have read, and LOVED, each and every one of his books! Once I started reading Lost Eden (same with all of his books), I couldn’t put it down! I guarantee after reading just one of J.R. Rain’s books, you’ll be hooked, too. Lost Eden is a great way to begin your very own thrill ride coasting through all his stories while loving every minute of it!” —Amazon review

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book.
