Tolkien's seminal high-fantasy trilogy, the humble hobbit Frodo Baggins is tasked with a perilous quest to destroy the One Ring, a sentient artifact of absolute power created by the Dark Lord Sauron to enslave Middle-earth. Accompanied by a diverse Fellowship of Men, Elves, Dwarves, and a Wizard, Frodo must journey to the volcanic Mount Doom, the only place the Ring can be unmade, while a burgeoning world war erupts across the kingdoms of Rohan and Gondor. Ultimately, the story is a grand epic, exploring how the smallest of individuals can overcome the corrosive influence of evil to restore the rightful king, Aragorn, and bring an end to the shadow of the Third Age.
