Paperback. It was unlike any place in all the earthly realms: a peaceful kingdom called Salem. Lord Grace, a king of ancient lineage and a servant's heart, has become the target of a darkness he did not invite. The bloodlust of the Men of Melas and the Men of Black Sands has reached its fullness. From the deceptive smiles of the Community of Green to the desolate pits where the Black Sands harvest their war-potion stones, a secret alliance has formed to take Salem by force. When the King is lured away and cornered by overwhelming odds, the fate of the realm falls into the hands of an unexpected young man. Come, one and all, and witness a struggle of light against shadow, where a secret betrayal threatens to undo a world-and a hero is forged in the fire of an impossible battle.
