The Looper’s Companion Guide by Capt. John has become the top-selling handbook for boaters navigating America’s Great Loop because it delivers unparalleled value, practicality, and firsthand expertise. This is not a book for entertainment nor is it a Looper's memoir. This is an informative, instructional, "How to best cruise America's Great Loop guide." What sets it apart is Capt. John’s decades of real-world experience on the Loop. He gives you knowledge that’s been distilled into a clear, accessible, and deeply reliable resource. The guide combines detailed day to day route planning, miles, fuel range, safety tips, harbor and lock information, seasonal insights, and troubleshooting advice in a way that veterans and first-time Loopers alike can immediately apply.
Readers consistently praise the guide for its comprehensive yet easy-to-understand format, its focus on preparation and risk reduction, and its ability to answer questions no one else addresses before departure. Whether skippers are planning logistics, provisioning, weather considerations, or community interactions along the way, Capt. John’s guide serves as both a roadmap and a trusted companion. Taking his advice, Loopers can save thousands of dollars on this adventure while having the very most fun doing it.
Because it saves time, saves money, reduces anxiety, increases safety, and enhances the overall cruising experience, The Looper’s Companion Guide has become the go-to reference for anyone serious about completing the Great Loop—earning its #1 best-seller status in the market for more than ten years. Hundreds of previous Loopers have said "The Looper's Companion Guide" is a must have.
