Precision shooting is not luck. It is mechanics.
Long-range accuracy is the result of repeatable physical principles governing stability, recoil management, body alignment, and ballistic understanding. When these principles are applied correctly, consistent hits at extended distance become predictable rather than accidental.
Long Range Shooting Fundamentals by Ethan Carragher provides a clear and structured introduction to the mechanical foundations of precision rifle shooting. Designed for beginners who want to build correct habits from the start, this guide explains the core principles that govern rifle stability and shot consistency.
Instead of relying on complicated theory or equipment-focused discussions, the book focuses on the most important factor in precision shooting: the shooter's mechanical interaction with the rifle.
Inside this guide you will learn:
• How stability and skeletal alignment control rifle movement
• The mechanics of recoil management and follow-through
• Why natural point of aim determines shot consistency
• How trigger control affects muzzle orientation
• The fundamentals of bullet trajectory and ballistic behavior
• How wind influences bullet flight at long distance
• Methods for diagnosing shot patterns and correcting errors
Each concept is explained through clear instruction supported by technical diagrams that illustrate how forces, alignment, and movement influence the firing process.
The book also includes a Bonus Section with practical tools such as:
• Shooting diagnostics guide
• Range reference charts
Whether you are beginning your journey into long-range shooting or refining the foundations of your technique, this guide provides the mechanical understanding required to develop consistent and disciplined marksmanship.
Precision begins with fundamentals.
