But life, as she soon discovers, rarely follows a straight line. When unexpected challenges arise-including rejected scholarships, a career break for motherhood, and the isolating demands of academia-Amira's dreams are abruptly put on hold. Navigating the harsh realities of the medical world, where a gap in a resume is often met with doubt and closed doors, she is forced to step back and rebuild her identity from the ground up.Caught in a breathless balancing act between hospital wards, grueling research data, and raising a family, Amira must make impossible choices. The Long Detour chronicles her emotional and professional journey through setbacks, bureaucratic hurdles, and sacrifices.
