8vo 326pp. seventh printing. from Preface: "This book, designed as an elementary text in logic, is the product of many years of experience and experiment in teaching. The material has been used for several years in syllabus form and has gone through a process of criticism from students and colleagues, as well as by teachers of logic, of law, and of related subjects in the social sciences. It attempts to make clear, without oversimplification, the essential elements of critical logical thinking and scientific methods. The book is divided into three parts, with an equal amount of emphasis upon the logic of deduction and the methods of the sciences." rare with DJ. #01318. very good: clean and square, mild toning to endpapers, name on front paste down, text clean, binding tight. DJ good: age toning to edges and spine, spine sunned, chipping, small closed tear back base of spine.
