Item description from seller

A summary of the railroads that were built to address the needs of loggers and mills in the Western U.S. With dozens of black & white photos depicting logging operations, locomotives, and several impressive but rather dodgy-looking trestles. Includes listing of logging railroads by state at rear of volume; indexed. --- In full beige cloth-covered boards with spine titling in dark brown. Jacket with blue monochrome image of train pulling logs. --- A very nice copy: clean, bright and tightly bound but with slight soiling to cloth. Jacket with rubbing, light chipping to edges and a little fading but remaining intact.; Small Quarto (9 to 11 in. tall); 144, (16) pages.
