Leichte Kratzer / Abnutzungen / Druckstellen; Vergilbt / ausgeblichen. As noted by William Gay, the United States is often surprising and complex. Since the last edition nearly a decade ago, the nation has faced divisive events, notably the September 11 attacks and the War on Terror. Yet, it remains a land of promise for those willing to understand it. Jef Davis, an experienced interculturalist, presents a revised edition that serves as both a cultural analysis and a practical relocation guide. This resource helps readers navigate the diverse American landscape, offering insights into how cultural traits influence interactions with Americans. Short-term visitors will find guidance on customs and immigration, housing, business conduct, healthcare, and everyday activities like shopping and banking. Long-term visitors will discover tips for thriving at work and school, making friends, and understanding American values amidst contemporary issues such as religious fundamentalism and the balance between security and personal liberties. With updated chapters and new material, this edition is an essential companion for visitors and immigrants alike. It provides a digestible overview of U.S. practices and lifestyles, making the complexities of American society more accessible.…

Store description
