About the Author: Robert Anson Heinlein was born in Missouri in 1907. He graduated from Annapolis and served in the navy; pursued astronomy, math, and politics; and owned a silver mine before beginning to write science fiction in 1939. In 1947 he published his first novel, Rocket Ship Galileo, and has since received wide acclaim for works such as Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, Time Enough for Love, and The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. He won four Hugo Awards, three Retro Hugos, and he received the first Grand Master Nebula Award for lifetime achievement. His last novel, To Sail Beyond the Sunset, was published in 1987, one year before his death.
