Paperback. Thelonious "Theo" Mitchell knows loss. After finding his mother's body following an overdose, he's learned to survive by keeping everyone at arm's length. Adopted by his aunt and uncle and transplanted to a new school where his second-hand clothes mark him as an outsider, Theo has perfected the art of being invisible. Then he meets Draven-the intimidating kid who saves him from a brutal beating and, against all odds, becomes his first real friend. As they study together late into the night, sharing dreams and painful truths, Theo discovers something he thought he'd lost forever: hope for a future beyond his neighborhood. But just as Theo begins to believe in second chances, tragedy strikes again. When Draven dies alone on a dark street, Theo is faced with a devastating choice: retreat into grief and give up on his dreams, or honor his friend's memory by refusing to let his own life be defined by his zip code.Powerful and deeply moving, To Die To Live is the first book in the Theo series-a story about friendship, loss, and the courage it takes to choose life when death has touched everything you love. It's about learning that sometimes you have to lose everything to discover what you're truly capable of becoming. This item is printed on demand.
