From the Back Cover
Now a worldwide bestseller (over 350,000 in print in eight languages), The Little Mac Book covers the basics of operating a Mac. It explains how to use the mouse and menus; what windows, files, fonts, and icons are; and much, much more. This edition covers information on System 7.1, the Performa series, CD-ROM drives, the Macintosh's visual clues, and networking. It also includes a tutorial for new users and a section on computer jargon.
With over 344,000 copies in print in eight languages, The Little Mac Book is considered by many to be the best beginners book available. Now a not-so-little 336 pages, the third edition is still as friendly and as crystal-clear as ever.
Author Robin Williams, a graphic design instructor and widely-read computer columnist, covers all the basics in the most unintimidating manner imaginable. She explains how to use the mouse and menus; what windows, files, fonts, folders, and icons are; what to do when unexpected things happen; and much, much more.
This edition of The Little Mac Book adds new information on System 7.1 (and covers earlier system software as well); plus the new Performa series of Macs, CD-ROM drives, the Macintosh's visual clues, and networking. Also included are a tutorial for new users and a glossary of computer jargon.
