Little Bird by Kenneth Pullin, a Richmond, Virginia native and passionate poet, is a heartwarming children’s book that beautifully illustrates the journey of growing up. Pullin frequently writes personal poems to mark important milestones in his children’s lives, and has crafted a touching tale that resonates with both young readers and their parents.
The story follows a "little bird" preparing to leave the safety and warmth of the nest for the first time. While the moment is bittersweet, there is also a profound sense of hope, as the parent bird prays for the wind to carry their child to new heights. The message of the story gently reassures children and reminds them that their parents will always be with them and love them, offering safety and support.
Whether it's a new school year, moving away, or simply growing more independent, this story is a perfect way to celebrate the transitions in life. Little Bird is more than just a children’s book—it’s a celebration of the parent-child bond, offering inspiration and comfort to families everywhere. Ideal for reading together, it’s sure to become a cherished favorite in any home.
