The rich tradition of Kennedy and Gioia's collective poetic voice bring personal warmth and a human perspective to the discussion of literature, adding to students' interest in the readings in the Third Edition.
Literature, Compact, Third Edition, is organized into three genres―Fiction, Poetry, and Drama. This edition reflects a balance of classic works along with contemporary and non-Western authors. More theory has been added through the addition of new casebooks and new critical essays.
