Something is pulling at the universe. It has always been pulling. We just didn't know it was personal.
In 2147, the world has grown accustomed to anomalies. Climate mathematics that don't add up. Tidal patterns that precede no storm. Gravitational readings across six continents that defy the models entirely. Scientists call it drift. Governments call it manageable. Dr. Davis Solís calls it a message.
A physicist and reluctant theologian at the Institute for Gravitational Studies in Geneva, Davis has spent fifteen years mapping what his colleagues dismiss as instrumentation error. The anomalies are not random. They are recursive. Patterned. And they are accelerating. When three independent observatories on three separate continents record the same gravitational sequence within the same seventy-two hours, the scientific community can no longer call it drift. Something is communicating. The question that fractures every institution on earth is not how, but who.
The Listening Field is not a story of invasion. There are no ships. No transmissions from distant stars. What arrives is not alien. It is intimate. The gravitational language, once partially decoded, does not describe a civilization or a species. It describes a relationship, and a longing, and something that can only be translated as a summons home.
Davis Solís did not set out to become the man who interprets God. He set out to understand why things fall. The answer, it turns out, is the same.
The most profound first contact in human history is not with something outside the universe but with the One who constructed its deepest law. Gravity, the force that holds galaxies together, that draws the apple from the branch and the tide to the shore, is revealed across this trilogy not as mechanism but as love made into physical law.
Some characters will accept the pull. Others will spend the remaining two volumes calculating how to resist it.
Book One establishes the anomalies, introduces the Gravity Accords as a framework for negotiating humanity's response, and follows Davis through the slow, costly, and often frightening realization that the universe has not been indifferent. It has been patient.
The Gravity Accords Trilogy: Book One: The Listening Field. Book Two: The Weight of Terms. Book Three: Final Accord.
