IN A WORLD BOUND BY SILENCE, HER SONG IS THE KEY
For twenty years, humanity has lived by a single rule: Keep the Hush.Kael is a Listener. Raised in the canopy of the giant redwoods, his job is to detect the slightest vibration before it turns into a catastrophe. He knows the truth better than anyone: the Earth is listening, and if it hears you, it will scream back with a Tremor that cracks the world apart.
Then he finds Elara.
She is a wild child found wandering the ruins of the Rust Zone—barefoot, unafraid, and dangerously loud. When a catastrophic Tremor threatens to shatter the settlement, Elara doesn’t hide. She sings.
And for the first time in history, the Earth stops shaking.
Marked for execution by a Council terrified of her power, Elara is Kael’s only hope of understanding the enemy beneath their feet. To save her, he must break his vows and guide her back into the nightmare he escaped: the dead cities of the surface.
But the silence of the ruins is a lie. Down in the dark, blind monsters hunt by sound, ancient machines are waking up, and a signal is calling Elara home.
Perfect for fans of A Quiet Place, The Darkest Minds, and The Maze Runner, Tamsin Reed’s debut is a pulse-pounding journey through a world where a whisper can be a weapon.
Why readers are diving into The Sound of Rust Trilogy:
- Unique Magic System: A world where physics and sound waves determine survival.
- Atmospheric Setting: From the silent redwood canopy to the crumbling steel canyons of the Rust Zone.
- Inclusive Worldbuilding: A society built on sign language and visual communication.
- High-Stakes Action: Terrifying creatures, ancient tech, and a race against time.
