4 volumes 8vo (24.5 cm), XIII, pp, 1208 pp; [2] pp, pp. 1209-1659; CXXXVII, 1030 pp; CLXIII, 639 pp. Publisher's cloth, gilt-lettered spines (ex-library copy with usual stamps and marks, but clean and firm, edges of vol. 2 and 3 somewhat rubbed, cloth chipped at the head of the spine of vol. 2, endpapers of vol. 2 slightly stained). The first four volumes of the list of atlases in the Library of Congress. An attempt was made to provide as comprehensive a description as possible, with some atlases listing all maps and some only maps related to America. The first volume includes descriptions of 3265 items; the second volume is the author list and the index to vol. I. The third volume, published in 1914, contains descriptions of items 3266-4087, while volume IV, published in 1920, includes items 4088-5324.
