Item description from seller

Twelve issues bound into a single clothbound volume (hardcover). Very Good+, with light foxing (age darkened spotting) to page edges. . Executives of Linotype spend much of their time traveling about the country. The more they travel the more clearly they see that they simply cannot visit their fellow executives in the printing and publishing business as often as is desirable for the proper interchange of ideas. Not as a substitute for the personal visits, but to supplement them, we are starting this new monthly. In time, when things jog into place, we hope to make it as intimate and colorful as the letters merchants sent to their customers in foreign ports. Our new monthly will be sent to executives only and will serve to reveal in a more intimate way the philosophy that governs the Linotype organization, its ideals and standards, and a condensation of those ideas gathered by our staff in their talks with leaders of the printing industry everywhere. And we hope that you will share your ideas with us and thus make our little monthly a co-operative enterprise which will not only yield all of us some profit but, what is probably even more important in these times, a great deal of quiet pleasure. So, we are sending Shining Lines to you not wholly because you are a customer or may become one, but because you are a fellow human being who may possibly enjoy many of the things we enjoy and who may lead us to enjoy what you enjoy by telling us your thoughts on This and That.
