Paperback. Visibility isn't the risk anymore. Power is.The season ended. The truth stayed. And the system learned how to push back quietly.Evan Marchand and Lucas Hale didn't just cross the line-they stood in it. Now, in a league that adapts just enough to pretend it's changed, visibility comes with a new cost. Not rumor. Not secrecy. Resistance. As scrutiny deepens and influence tightens, Lucas discovers that leadership doesn't stop at standing firm. Sometimes it means choosing who gets protected when silence is rewarded and loyalty is tested. Evan learns that staying visible isn't a single act of courage-it's a daily negotiation between softness and strength, love and leverage. This time, the threat isn't being hidden. It's being managed. The Line That Pushes Back is the final book in a slow-burn MM hockey romance trilogy about professional athletes, power dynamics in sports, and a relationship strong enough to be challenged-not by secrecy, but by control. Intimate, emotionally grounded, and unflinching, this is a love story about staying when leaving would be easier.Perfect for readers who love: slow-burn MM romancehockey romance with emotional depthteammates-to-lovers dynamicsstories about visibility, leadership, and powerromance that values intimacy over spectacle What early readers are saying."Quiet, powerful, and unforgettable.""A slow burn that truly stays with you.""Emotionally mature, honest, and deeply satisfying."Some lines are crossed. This one is moved. About the Author: Remy Cole writes slow-burn MM romances where desire meets devotion and love is built, not rushed. Remy believes the steamiest stories are the ones where the characters earn each other-on the ice, in the world, and in the quiet moments between. When not writing, Remy can usually be found at a rink, in a cafe, or watching people fall in love in real life-sometimes without realizing they've done it yet. - Book 3 of 3: The Blue Line Trilogy: A Slow-Burn MM Hockey Romance Series About Loyalty, Visibility, and Choosing Love
Two Stanley Cups. A love the whole league finally accepts.
And a new owner who wants to put it up for sale.
Lucas Hale and Evan Marchand spent years fighting to simply exist — out, together, untouchable. Then the Montréal Étoiles get a new owner, and Gareth Voss doesn't want to hide them the way the last regime did.
He wants to own them.
The model couple. The prestige story. The brand. And every offer he makes arrives looking like a gift.
Voss doesn't have to break them. He just has to wait for them to break themselves.
Because under pressure, Lucas reaches for the wall — handling the threat alone, in the dark, deciding what Evan can carry. And Evan reaches for the door — going quiet, running the old math, drafting four merciful words he swore he'd never write again.
On the ice, they're flawless. Everywhere else, they're strangers sharing a cold bed. The whole world sees a perfect couple. Only the two of them know it's hollow — and that the thing they nearly lost twice, once at an airport and once in a kitchen, is slipping away a third time. Not to Voss. To their own oldest instincts.
To win the Cup, the locker room, and each other, they'll have to do the one thing neither of them has ever managed: stop protecting, stop leaving, and stand in front of everyone with empty hands and the truth.
The line held through everything.
Now it pushes back.
The emotional, open-door finale of the Blue Line Trilogy — an established-couple, found-family hockey romance with all the hurt, all the comfort, and a hard-won happily ever after. Perfect for readers who love out-and-proud athletes, a devoted couple pushed to the breaking point, and a team that feels like home.
