In the Line of Fire, the third installment of the Trace O’Reilly Detective Series, takes the action and suspense to a whole new level. After rescuing his daughter Lily from the clutches of Nelson Peterson, Trace is ready to start fresh—with a new investigative business and the hope of rebuilding his relationship with Lily. But as any fan of this series knows, peace never lasts long for the O’Reillys.
Lily’s struggles to find her own path lead her into the arms of the charming Guillermo Jose Miguel Sanchez, igniting sparks of both romance and danger, while Troy Ashcroft looks on with growing unease. Meanwhile, Trace’s decision to reopen the Jimmy Barlow case pulls him deeper into a tangle of betrayal, corruption, and secrets that refuse to stay buried.
Bryan M. Powell masterfully weaves together fast-paced action, unexpected twists, and emotionally charged relationships. This story balances heart-pounding suspense with the tenderness of a father-daughter bond tested by both love and lies. Fans of detective thrillers will find themselves hooked from the first page to the explosive conclusion.
