The editor has collected the poetic works of seventy-two poets (twenty-one of whom died during the war) who were greatly affected by the devastation of the First World War. There are many familiar names featured including Thomas Hardy, Rupert Brooke, Robert Service, W.B. Yeats, Rudyard Kipling, Alec Waugh, Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen along with many unknown poets whose works are nontheless improtant to the overall impact of the war on its participants.
