Paperback. April 14, 1865 - The war was all but over. A weary nation could at last see the light at the end of the tunnel. Then an assassin's bullet ended all hope for a peaceful resolution to the war. In the wake of the assassination of America's most beloved president, one assassin was dead; eight conspirators were on trial for their lives; one conspirator had fled across Canada, Europe, and Africa; and one had sold out the rest to save his own neck. Revenge was the order of the day. This is their story through primary source documents. Never before has this information been compiled together in one easy to read book, not even on the internet. Created with college history students in mind and taken from firsthand accounts, the conspirators own confessions, and government investigations, this volume is full of detailed information vital for any investigation into the Lincoln Assassination. Only the National Archives has more primary source documents in one collection. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…
