Lights and Shadows of Scottish Life, A Selection from the Papers of The Late Arthur Austin, Coffin and Roby, Concord, N.H., 1834, 292 pp plus contents, quarter leather with original blue boards, 5.5 x 3.5 , 32mo. In fair condition. Boards are soiled with dampness staining and scuffing. Spine perished with binding exposed. Leather is mostly gone from spine. Tips rubbed with board exposed. Ex-library of the Lebanon Historical Society. Old hand ownership of Titus T. Worth dated 1842, West Chester, PA on fly leaf. Joint beginning. Interior lightly toned with scattered foxing. Rippling from previous moisture exposure. Binding intact. Free of known markings. Please see photos. Scarce 19th century imprint. We believe this is a pseudonym of John Wilson (1785-1854), who also wrote the name of Christopher North and is probably best known as the author of Noctes Ambrosianae. Seller Inventory # COLH1834ABCN
