When the beam returns, so do the buried truths.
The quiet coastal town of Brookwood has always lived in the shadow of its lighthouse-steady, dependable, a watchman against storms. But when its light begins to flash in a strange sequence-three short bursts, two long- local bookshop keeper Marley Taylor suspects it isn't a mechanical glitch. It's a signal. A warning. And one that history may have deliberately concealed.
With town historian Damien Hawthorne at her side-practical, reserved, a man bound by duty yet haunted by the past-Marley follows the trail of light back through Brookwood's forgotten archives. Beneath floorboards, in logbooks, and in visions that strike when she least expects, she unearths the sigil of a healer, the whispers of a Circle of Seven women who once protected the town, and the name of a co-founder erased from the records: Aurelia Ward, Beacon of the Grove.
Each clue draws them deeper: a storm that reveals glowing script hidden in the lighthouse walls; a lost charter fragment suggesting a deliberate cover-up; an apothecary who vanished without a trace; and the haunting return of a waltz no living musician remembers writing. As Marley documents every flicker, Damien wrestles with his own unraveling memory-a childhood near-drowning at the lighthouse that he had buried until now.
Together they must decipher Aurelia's unfinished ritual, one that bound the light not only to ships at sea but to the town's soul itself. A ritual that whispers of sacrifice, legacy, and blood. A ritual waiting for the right hands to mend what was broken.
But Brookwood's council wants harmony, not upheaval. They warn Marley and Damien to stop digging, to leave history quiet. Silence, after all, has been a useful guardian. Yet as Marley takes on the role of Keeper of Memory-first held by Aurelia-the truth refuses to stay buried. Artifacts surface: a compass etched with flame and oath, a medical journal written in cipher, a hidden cellar sealed beneath the lighthouse floor.
As the summer solstice approaches, their personal bond intensifies-an unspoken closeness forged in candlelight, visions, and trust tested by storms. But the romance budding between them carries its own tension: can they deepen roots together, or will their paths diverge under the weight of legacy and responsibility?
For the first time in generations, Brookwood remembers. Yet Brookwood's mysteries are far from over. In the silence that follows midsummer, another keeper calls for attention: the ceremonial Winter Bell, which fails to ring for the first time in eighty-eight years. What vow was broken? Who was the bride left behind? And will the truths revealed in stillness threaten to part Marley and Damien just as they've begun to choose each other?
The Lighthouse Prophecy is a sweeping, atmospheric continuation of the Brookwood Mysteries series-where forgotten histories resurface, memory itself becomes the keeper of justice, and love must learn to stand steady against silence and storm alike. Perfect for readers who crave the intimacy of small-town mysteries, the lyricism of magical realism, and the slow-burn ache of a romance tested by legacy, this third installment invites you back to Brookwood for its most haunting revelation yet.
Because in Brookwood, light is never just light-it is memory, vow, and truth. It will never stop asking to be carried forward.
