Item description from seller

Stapled booklet. 8vo. [16 pp]. Woodcut illustrations. Early 1960s script of the "sound and light" show spectacle that continues today (from April to September) on the Island of Rhodes. It is a modern reiteration of traditional Moors and Christians folk plays, but for tourists and recounts the conflict between the Knights Hospitallers of St. John and Suleiman the Magnificent of Turkey in 1522. Though there is no publication date, an explanatory note--"The success of the spectacle 'Son et Lumiere' on the Acropolis of Athens has given the Tourist Organization the opportunity to create a similar spectacle on the Island of Rhodes"--suggests this booklet was published in the early 1960s, perhaps as early as 1961, the year the Sound and Light Show began on Rhodes (The Acropolis show begun in 1959 no longer continues).
