Most Christians would agree that evangelism and discipleship have been
the biblical strategy used for personal transformation. We have joyfully
witnessed individual lives transformed as they are aligned with biblical
principles. Can those same biblical principles transform a city? The answer
is, yes. But city transformation will require a different strategy than that
used for personal transformation. The 4Tucson model is an intentional
strategy for aligning a city with biblical principles.
"Mark has always been one of my heroes. The idea that you have to be a big church or a megachurch to change your city is just wrong. I've learned frankly the opposite is true -- a smaller church and specifically a group of smaller churches can do more to change and impact a city than a single big church. Mark tells his story and maps out how it all came about. It's not ideas, sermons, and theories--it's the practices that have led them to be able to do what they have. Read it and learn and apply."

"You Are the Light of Your City is a story of inspiration and perspiration. What began as a vision has become a movement that is helping all people of Tucson live and experience life a little closer to the way God intended. In this compact volume, Mark Harris takes us backstage and lets us peek at the nuts and bolts...the structures and relationships that go into the inspired work of city transformation. Filled with strategic insights along with reflective and diagnostic questions, this book serves as a primer for those hearty kingdom-oriented souls who long for what God wants to do in their cities."
Eric Swanson

Co-author of The Externally Focused Church and To Transform a City
"My friend Mark is a leader and example of someone who truly loves his city, and believes that Jesus wants to transform it. Under his leadership, 4Tucscon encourages Jesus followers to obey their calling to be 'ambassadors' for the Kingdom of God and trust God for biblical transformation that will benefit the whole community. In this compelling book, he reveals a very practical model for how city leaders can approach a long-term transformation effort that begins, first and foremost, with LOVE."
