Softcover. Condition: VG+. First Edition. 4 volumes. all Square 8vo, ca 94pp each. Printed wraps as issued. Numerous Colour and Black & White plates. Text in English. Rennie Ellis is, aside of being an underground hero, one of the few, and most certainly the best chronicler of life in Australia from the sixties to his death in 2003. Here- are all four book in his "life's a." series, each volume exploring a different aspect of society, with a heavy dash of humility and humour. Each single volume is particularly noteworthy, exeplifying his fascination for the idiosyncracies of human behaviour, but all four as a set are quite the life of the party, encompassing Australia's relationship to beer, beach life, partying, and the underground fashion scene which took place in the shadows of Australia's nightlife. Ellis really knew his subjects, and managed to capture an ease and intimacy seldom seen- comparisons to early Parr are not unfounded. Seller Inventory # TWI07948
