All five are in blue cloth with blind embossed wreath on front cover. All spines are well sunned with Volume I the least affected. Volume V is a bit more worn particularly at top and bottom of spine. All volumes have a small sticker on spine (see photo). Volume I, 1855, 504 pages. Volume II, 1855, 518 pages. Volume III 1856, 523 pages + small publisher's ad tipped in at back. Volume IV, 1857, 518 pages. Volume V, 1859, 456 pages. Volume V has index. All have frontispieces of Washington with tissue guard. Volume V only had a 3" by 3" library book plate affixed to 1st pastedown of an elaborate view of early Boston. handwritten accession information and book number.
