Clean covers decorated in gilt, black and red. Lightly rubbed corners and joints. Sound binding with just a slight skew. Clean pages and plates. It is not unusual for this publisher to not provide a publication date in its volumes. As you will see I have noted in the item description (if you are viewing by phone you may need to click to open the full description) we have dated by reference to library hub discover which was previously known as COPAC. Searching for this title and publisher gives three distinct editions, the earliest have viii paginated (numbered) prelim pages, 328 pages, and possibly 8 non-paginated pages at the end (number given in brackets. The apparent earliest is undated by the publisher and attributed to 1883 (date given in brackets), there appear also to be dated copies in the same format dated 1884 and 1885, possibly reprints or with a handwritten date. The dated edition of 1897 has x prelim pages, 432 pages, and 18 non-paginated pages. The undated edition of 1901 or 1902 has x prelims, 439 pages and 18 non-paginated pages. This is like our volume. Library cataloguing dates of undated books are dated according to best information available to the library which might be from publisher's information or from the date that the book entered the library or from another library's date or a hand-written date within the volume. Sometimes books printed and released towards the end of a year are shown as being published the following year, if these were placed with a library before the end of the year or have a dated inscription inside, they can be listed as being the year before the publisher's publication date. Contains colour and black and white plates (full page illustrations). No dust-jacket. Previous owner's name in ink at front. Undated by publisher. Dated by reference to COPAC/Library Hub Discover. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: under 1 kg. Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request. Inventory No: 14820121007. All our books are sent by tracked mail.…
